My partner in crime takes her seat at the Ballet Austin Fete. It was a grand occasion and we had a terrific time.

These guys are ready for the Halloween season. We saw them down the street on a neighbor's balcony while on a walk the other day.

This giraffe was part of the Gay Pride parade the other night. I am glad all the balloons on it made it through the parade unpopped.

At the Elephant Room the other night, the singer in the red dress hopped off the stage and danced with a friend in the audience.

These scrumptious crab fingers are new on the menu at Fixe. Really tasty and a nice lead-in to the entree.

Big Buildings, Big Businesses

The one on the left is going to be a major Google installation. "Stacker of data for the nation," huh? The building still being worked on to the right will have Facebook offices.

Especially the booths that sell meat! Lots of meat, dad.

Bag to match

This cool dude is all decked out for fall. Of course, it gets cool enough to wear a jacket about two months a year around our town.

The Eagle Has Landed

This mural swoops on the side of a building on the east side with the new, soon-to-be-opened Fairmount Hotel looming on the other side of IH-35.

Walking by Mexico

The Mexic-Arte Museum on Congress changes the murals along Fifth Street often. Here's FFP walking by one as we take one of our downtown adventure walks.

Sidewalk Art

This was neatly drawn in the sidewalk on the Johnson Creek Trail. I doubt it's an indicator that any is growing around there, probably just a bit of art or wishful thinking.

Blanton Atrium

The Blanton Museum atrium has had the installed artwork Falling Waters (fragment seen here, the blue and white tiles climbing the wall) for a long time. A recent addition to the space is this organic sculpture. I like this particular shot of the two with the stairs and lighting/sky lights of the atrium.

From Ancient to Modern

A recent exhibit at the Blanton Museum brought this ancient sculpture into juxtaposition with two modern museum-goers. I just liked the composition.

Remains of the Day

The morning after Austin's Gay Pride Parade found the sidewalk near our building strewn with fragments of colored balloons lost to puncture the night before. (Perhaps from lit cigarettes?!)

Pedestrian friendly, as always.

After the hurricane last month, walking on some downtown sidewalks was a bit of a problem.
