Lost Flip Flop

People seem to lose their shoes where we are walking. My hikers are securely on my feet!

Fork in the Road

When you are walking the Hike and Bike, there are choices like this one on the south shore.

Check for traffic!

There is a blind corner on a ramp near Shoal Creek on the pedestrian access area near our building. This mirror makes checking for speeding bikes or scooters a cinch. The building in the reflection is the new Independent Condos. (Tallest building in the city right at the moment.)

What up, Mr. Duck?

This guy had planted himself on a railing on one of the many bridges on the hike and bike trail. He didn't seem to want to move and I wondered if were ill. He is probably a Muscovy Duck, although I'm not an expert.

More scooter madness

This scooter rider has issues, as they say. Yeah. Thanks for littering our trail, you fine person.

Fixes

So many thoughts about this graffiti and the paper poster which may or may not relate to the message. This was on one of the pillars supporting Mopac above the Crenshaw Bridge.

Our little town

I love it when the skyline seems to peep out from the vegetation along the trail.

Pretty bench

Someone went to a lot of trouble to fancy up the surroundings of this bench along the Hike and Bike Trail.

Downtown Dogs

These dogs belong to some friends who live downtown. I got them out for a stroll recently with their owner.

Bike Selfie

These bikers were getting a selfie at the Ai Weiwei sculpture that was on the Butler Trail one day last month. Hope they got a picture they liked because the sculpture was temporary and is gone now.

What Do You Have for Me?

These two with their mom at the dog park were trying to behave to get a treat I think. Quite the size difference.

She was quite a lady

This plaque tells the story of Roberta Crenshaw, who was the pioneer of the trail system in Austin.

New guardrail

A man jogging along here was killed by a car that jumped the curb. They have finally put up a permanent guardrail.

Doggy day care

This professional dog walker had her hands full with one big guy and two little ones.

Change in status

The entire time I was growing up in Austin until his death in 2011, Cactus Pryor was a part of my life -- he was Austin's legendary broadcaster and the resident comedian of the LBJ administration. He's gone now, but his spirit lives on in "The Cactus Patch" that was established on the hike and bike trail that winds around Lady Bird Lake. Easy Access to the Trails

This is FFP walking toward the pedestrian underpass at Shoal Creek and Cesar Chavez. From our condo we can use this reopened piece of the Shoal Creek Trail to access the Butler Trail...and avoid crossing any streets.

Home is where you make it

This guy (you see the bottoms of his shoes) just decided to lay down and take a nap on the grass one morning two weeks or so ago.
