Bats!

The bats under the Congress Avenue (Ann Richards) Bridge aren't practicing social distancing. My friend Mary captured this from her Rainey Street Condo. Her views are fantastic!

A friend (Angelique Naylor) shot this from a kayak on Lady Bird Lake. Captures a lot of the buildings and the reflection of some of their colorful tops. Our building (the 360 Condos) is left of center with the spire to the left. The very tall one left of that is the Independent and the very tall one nearer and on the right is the Austonian.

Pair on a Perch

These guys each claimed one of these old concrete piers on Lady Bird Lake. They remained there calmly while I went down the hill to frame a shot. They are some sort of geese, I think. They might have gotten this vantage point to look for breakfast.

In spite of the massive growth, we still have beautiful scenes like this to see each day.

Just Breathe!

That's good advice for the holidays! Just breathe. The RIP next to it is part of another piece of graffiti on the railroad bridge over Lady Bird Lake.

These two with their mom at the dog park were trying to behave to get a treat I think. Quite the size difference.

This young lady said she purchased her fancy boots in Albuquerque. She let us take a shot of them and chatted with us for a while.

This young couple seemed to be waiting for someone to show up with a boat so they could get in some rowing.

Dogs are delighted to dip!

As we walk through the doggie park on Auditorium Shores, we never fail to see some dogs who have splashed in the lake.

This batch of turtles was having fun in the sun on a recent afternoon at Lady Bird Lake.

Mark Twain cruise

This cruise down Lady Bird Lake featured a performance from folks on a raft! There is old Mark Twain on the vessel in his white suit.

Watering hole

Love to see people and their dogs using the lake and having fun on the shore.

Now this is a real workout!

We were on the IH-35 bridge the other day and saw these strong young men pulling oars on these boats. My guess is that they are on the University of Texas rowing team. They weren't just idly meandering upstream, that's for sure.

Good advice!

The city-maintained trails are indeed our gym -- we get a lot of exercise for our tired old bodies on them. I'm glad that they exist. We saw this sign on the Boardwalk the other -- it is a fancy trail on the south shore of Lady Bird Lake. 

More apartments! More apartments!

Just a couple of months ago, these apartments on the south shore of Lady Bird Lake were halfway up, it seemed. Now they are ready for move-in. Austin is still one of the fastest-growing cities in the USA. Time marches on!
