Good to-go

We have been eating a lot of to-go food during the plague time. Here you see a pizza and carrot soup from Cipollina in West Austin. Very tasty.

Solidarity pies

A local pizza pie outfit was targeted with a ridiculous and hateful charge the other day. So we bought some slices from them to show support.

Now that's a lot of pizza!

Well, you'd expect this, what with this location of Domino's being right by the UT campus

Pieous Pizza Pizzaz!

The is the Fat Queen pizza at Pieous, a great locally-run place for excellent food. Neopolitan style!

Take Some Home

It's theme day at City Daily Photo. Since it's a worldwide portal the theme is 'take away' or 'take out' or 'take-out' as here. Here we see the take-out window for Home Slice pizza in their second building. This is very popular pizza on South Congress. Click here to see takes on this theme from around the world.

New Haven pizza -- also in Austin

I've never tried this type of pizza, either. Looks like I have my work cut out for me.

Detroit pizza in ATX

I guess we should try this version of pizza out sometime. I'd like to know what Detroit pizza tastes like.

Pizza To Go

A couple of weeks ago the pizza guys at the Saturday Farmer's Market had their pizza oven on a trailer. That's really pizza to go.

Daisy Truffle Pizza

A great way to start a Saturday! The Farmers' Market a block from our high rise had a pizza outfit baking fresh pies while you wait yesterday. I ordered a Daisy Truffle, which had tomato sauce, mozzarella and some herbs and was augmented with truffle oil. (That should explain why they had written "Daisy Forrest" on the box.) The lovely lady at the cash stand opened the box so I could take this shot. On the way home, I almost stopped at the deli to buy some Italian salami to go with it, but decided not to. Linda and I agreed that it was delicious. Living downtown is so much fun.

Flying Pizza

This mural is at Southside Flying Pizza on South Congress. I like the stylized skyline and the psychedelic pizza oven spitting out the wares. Haven't checked out their pizza. Must do some time and compare to the uber popular Home Slice (which I haven't tried either). I seem to be behind on pizza taste tests!

Celebrate with Cake and Pizza

This little store on West Twelfth Street makes specialty cakes (weddings anyone?) but also looks to be offering pizza to the nearby Austin Community College students on the campus that is the old Austin High School.

Not Everything Downtown is a Smart Wine Bar

While there are plenty of steak houses, wine bars, sushi joints, etc. downtown there are also tons of casual places, including Frank and Angie's Pizzeria and Joe's Bar and Grill. Their parking lots touch but they do not share amicably. I highly recommend Frank and Angie's where the Lagosi's Lament pie has multiple cloves of roasted garlic.
