Country Look

This looks like a place in the country with the gate in the stone wall, but it's in east Austin not far from skyscrapers.

Dry Stack

On our walks, I like to observe the different types of walls and gates. This wall, in Old West Austin, is a great example of a dry stack wall.

Flamingos galore

We tried out a new restaurant on the Eastside the other day. This wallpaper in the restroom was striking, to say the least.

Stoned skull

This skull in a stone wall lends a creepy air to this restaurant on South First.

Wall Decor

Along the east side of South First there is a stone wall with this cow skull incorporated into the native stone. It's funny that a small walk from our high rise can yield such pictures.

Back to the Wall

This is a detail of a wall off Baylor Street in Old West Austin that I visited in January. We were in that neighborhood yesterday, but I didn't stop by there. Then, while cleaning out my e-mail files I came on a shot that my friend and walking and exploring buddy Allan shot of this detail of the wall and decided it would be today's shot.

Up Against the Wall

There is a wall in an alley off Baylor in Old West Austin that has all manner of found objects and different materials in it. Back in 2001 I'd taken some pictures of it and I wanted to see if it was still there. So on my Monday walk with my friend we walked down the alley and he shot this picture. It took me a while (and Google search on my old WEB site) to find the other pictures. But the wall hasn't changed much while a lot of other things have.
