Bremond Block

Years ago we showed you the stately downtown house that gives a block of Seventh Street its name. But, I realized, I don't think we've ever shown you two other magnificent old homes on the same block. The Bremond House, just to the right of this one which is in the link above, was getting scaffolding for some renovation a few weeks ago. This one and the one I'll show you tomorrow are wonderful, too.

Seaholm Transforming

The old decommissioned Seaholm Power Plant is being made into a multi-use development, with a hotel as the centerpiece.  Here you see a big rendering of what the final result will look like. Please click on the photo above to make it larger so you can see the rendering.

Strolling Along

These ladies were having a grand time pushing their babies down the Hike and Bike Trail the other day.  Maybe years from now they will remember halcyon days like this one when their kids were so young.

Reflections of the Boom Town

Thanks to the clouds and ripples in the water, an interesting reflection of the tall buildings downtown was ripe for a photograph on a recent morning.

Going up!

Here is a shot of the new Marriott Hotel being constructed in downtown Austin.  I took this photo from our balcony.  Linda and I bet that we will not be able to see the top of either the Hyatt Place or the Hampton Inn within two weeks.
