Cozy Rosedale Cottage

I took this shot on an early morning walk a few days ago. Many of the houses in our neighborhood were built in the forties and fifties and have a quaint look. I've often admired this one-- a small but accommodating porch, pretty blue/white paint and well-tended landscaping, plus a chimney built with creative rock work.

The dappled light gives it an especially warm look, I think.

  1. That is a neat house and was probably built during World War II. Lot of what they used to call Defense Cabins were built here and still exist with two or more of them joined together. I like your photo of this small house and with the landscaping looks very nice.

  2. Very well tended cottage! So many nice details, too. Mostly preserved, but I did noticed a skylight ;-)

  3. Nifty cottage. I guess the attic was closed in later. People were able to life in smaller cottage back then. Saw some stats the other day about how house sizes have been rising steadily for 40 or more years. Maybe with all these electronic pursuits we can't get close to each other like we could then.
