Starry Halloween

For the benefit of goblins worldwide, I thought that I'd post another pumpkin from the carving contest we displayed not long ago. Here is a true artistic effort--this local artist actually recreated the famous Van Gogh painting "Starry Night," (plus an ear in a nod to the painter), in the hour allotted. She did a fantastic job, I thought.

  1. It's fun to see how the artist reproduced the painting on a curved surface.

Must send my son to this post- for Halloween he dressed as the Van Gogh self-portrait with pipe and bandaged ear. Vincent never goes out of style!

  2. This "carving" contest sets a high standard. Next year, I'll crank it up a notch. My "Mad Pump-Man" was good, but some of these people where doing entries beyond belief.

(What's more, the painter shown here got her entry done in an hour flat.)

Am a big fan of Mad Men & liked the Mad Pump-Man, too!
