The Paramount Theatre on Congress Avenue, our main downtown street, has been the site of so much fun and entertainment in Austin for almost 100 years. From movies to live acts, its stage and screen has been a workhorse. It's a great subject for landmarks in our town. And that's the theme in our blog family for this month. Other City Daily Photo blogs that interpreted this theme are found

Great composition, makes one feel right there1
ReplyDelete100 years! That's a milestone. What are they doing counting down the top 100 movies that played there?
ReplyDeleteNot just movies in this theater - many live acts like Fess Parker when he was playing Davy Crockett, Carol Channing, Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca, etc.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a classic style of architecture! Nice that they can shift back and forth between screening movies and a theatrical setting.
ReplyDeletethis is wonderful!
