Parry's Agave

Jackie captured this with her walking buddy observing the plant's outlandish display. (Near the Mexican American Cultural Center and sharing the space with a part of the Tejano Trail musicians tribute.) She says
We were thrilled to see the gaudy agave blooming at the Mexican American Art Center. I didn’t get a close-up, but it had been mobbed by bees, which is partly why my friend looks so astounded. I read that there’s a sweet liquid at the base of each bloom. And like all agaves, the plant only blooms once before dying (but leaves pups to continue the cycle).
