What?

Yes, we are in Texas and I know everyone thinks we see cowboys all the time. Not So. These guys (and their horses) were pulled up in a parking place in front of Wiggy's on West Sixth. I didn't have time to inquire  about what they were doing as we were headed to a dinner reservation. But my reaction as I took this quick picture was much like the woman shown on the left. What?

Urban Garden

Hey, there's nothing like some greenery in the heart of the city! This is about two blocks from our condo.  Soon it will be site of the Hotel Zaza that is slated for downtown.

Serving Longhorns Since 1926

Well, they don't really serve Longhorn meat (Hut's does I think) but this painting is on the venerable burger joint Dirty Martin's Kumback on Guadalupe. They've been serving good old greasy burgers and tater tots to UT Longhorn fans since 1926.

Open to Interpretation

We were walking up Johnson Trail the other day when we encountered this elaborate graffiti mural which I confess I didn't really understand.

Unusual Sign

FFP and I walk all over the place. We see a few signs warning motorists to yield to peds in crosswalks and a few warning of a crosswalk with the walking man. But this is the only one I've seen like this. It's on East 11th just east of IH35. And honestly? I doubt the activity exceeds that of any other street we walk. Of course, no cars will change their behavior because of this, I don't think.

Lost and Found

We took a walk a couple of days ago and passed by the improvised lost and found shelf on a cement pedestal at the start of the Crenshaw Bridge. I hope these people reclaim their keys.  I'm really curious how you could lose one shoe and not know it.
