To contrast with all the photos we have posted of boats in Town Lake, here's one of a vessel we recently passed on a walk. Looks like it hasn't seen its natural element in a while.

This co-op housing in Judge's Hill shows a lot of the official co-op dwellers' transportation: bikes.

Peter looms over the Peter Pan Mini Golf on Barton Springs Road unaware of the threat entering stage right. He seems proud of his crocheted 'bra' for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Mural at Threadgill's

Threadgill's South Location has this mural, picturing both the old Armadillo World Headquarters (which was nearby) and the original Threadgill's (in an old gas station on North Lamar...which is now Threadgill's North). The man on Texas is the late Kenneth Threadgill, namesake.

Armadillo Cow

I know we are all tired of plastic cows. But this is too funny. Armadillo Cow. Actually labeled 'Armoodillo Cow!"

Greg Louganis

On October 16th, the Austin AIDS walk had Greg Louganis as honorary chair. He (and his cute dog) speak to the crowd before step off.

Seasonal Mural

Austin loves Halloween and music. (Or Day of the Dead. This is part of the murals on Mexic Arte Museum.)

This house in South Austin favors round windows. I sort of like it.

Just liked the way these ducks looked one day when we were on the bridge over Waller Creek on the Hike and Bike trail.

This old historic windmill has been made into a park along the Johnson Creek Trail.

These are the custom tacos I got at Bacon the other day. The bacon was Coconut Curry Cured. That's a first for me.

Not a great picture, but I shot it with a Nikon S630 Point and Shoot from a moving boat so...all things considered...I like it.

This Bat Isn't Flying Tonight

Although it's sunset and the little guys have mostly flown, one very large mammal remains suspended upside down from the Congress Avenue Bridge but wait...is that? A cow?!

Bats!

We took one of those boat cruises on Lady Bird Lake last night with a group of people from one of our causes. People tried to capture sunset, bats and night time skylines with their phones and point and shoot cameras. I wasn't immune. I liked this one. The bats are making a '<' sign on the left side of the picture. That is, of course, our building (The 360) above the fellow with the glasses.

Deep Eddy Mural Critters

A very elaborate mosaic mural is being completed at Deep Eddy Pool. This detail shows the critters!

Dance on the Street

Shot this from the street the other day as ballet dancers worked in the Armstrong Connelly studio at Ballet Austin.

Old Fire Station

This fire station on Blanco has only one truck these days. The other bay, out of the picture, is used for a fireman's gym.

Another view

We attended a party at a Westlake home a few days ago and I took this photo from their veranda. They have a superb telescopic device, as you can see. Our home is in the cluster of tall buildings just to the left of the sight.

Not a Food "Trailer"

Noticed this on E. Fifth. Appears to be a street food venture. The guys out front said I'd need to see their agent about pictures but then relented and said it was OK.

Sports Bar

I'm thinking when you stop into this East Side bar that there might be some sports on TV. I am charmed by this mural.

Good Morning, Frost Bank

We never get tired of looking out the window and seeing a sunrise behind the Frost Bank Tower. This morning's caught FFP's eye and we shot several pictures with several cameras. Since the tower is also a great mirror for clouds and sunsets, etc. it has appeared here often.

Fall Display

Whole Foods is showing a nice display of fall pumpkins and gourds now. Yesterday we showed a gnarly detail for the theme day of 'mystery objects.'
