Mount Austin

We were busy dining out and shopping for books at the end of the day on August 21, but Jackie and her husband were alert to the Austin skies and saw this cloud bank doing an imitation of a snow-capped moutain. She says:
[my husband] alerted me that we could see Mt Kilamanjaro from our kitchen window, so I snapped this shot. Soon after, the cloud bank drifted west and "melted."
Today is the first of the month and therefore theme day at City Daily Photo. The theme is curiosities. We were thinking of a picture of odd junk at our favorite junk and antique shop, but we saw this and thought it would be perfect for the theme. On the Way to Austin

In the hours after the big flood on May 25th, we were flying into Austin. I shot this with my old iPhone out the window. Surreal view.

Ominous Clouds

We were walking on South Congress the other day and the sky looked so strange. Also...has that tree heard about the Capitol View Corridor?

Clouds and Cranes

One day last month I shot this picture of the clouds and the construction and the JW Marriott on Congress from just north of it on Brazos.

Clouds in the Sky

One day the fluffy clouds provided such a nice backdrop that I just couldn't resist snapping this picture from the Drake (South First) pedestrian bridge.

Blowing Clouds

I took this last Thursday afternoon (the 31st of January) because I thought the clouds looked so strange as if they were so light they were being blown by the wind into streaks. I turned around to the TV where I was watching the weather report and the weatherman had taken the same picture and he confirmed my assertion that the wind was reshaping the clouds.

A Sign?

I've been laughing at mutterings of apocalypse then I look out our living room window to see this in the sky. A sign?
