The Tale Of Two Tacos

 We ate Sunday lunch at Salsa Limon the other day. First time that we have tried the place.
My chicken taco on the right was great. The mushroom version was OK, not as good as the other one.  

Theme Day: Comfort Food

 Frieda's Enchiladas with Venison Chili, served at Texas Chili Parlor. These always bring us comfort. 

Looking forward to seeing what the rest of our colleagues post on this score. 

Valentine's Day Is Near

 

We went to a Valentine's party hosted by a couple who are friends of ours last night. They live in a high-rise condo three blocks away. As usual, they went all out on food and decorations. It's nice to be able walk to a party, have fun and not worry about the drive home. 

Lettuce, wrapped

We went to a private dinner before the Ballet Austin performance of Sarah's Songs last night. The salad had a creative presentation -- the crouton was wrapped around the romaine lettuce. You had to tip it over and break off pieces. The ballet performance was magnificent, by the way. A very nice evening. 

Cheesy, cheesy, cheesy!

 We love buying fine cheeses from Antonelli's Cheese Shop here in town. These four reserves a nice spectrum of flavors. Buy local!

Good to-go

 We have been eating a lot of to-go food during the plague time. Here you see a pizza and carrot soup from Cipollina in West Austin. Very tasty. 

Dinner in the little house

We rented an Air BnB for a change of pace this month. This meal was ordered from a nearby restaurant. It is fun to try something new.

Banana pancakes

Easy to make -- 2 eggs and a banana mashed up in a bowl!

Hail, Caesar!

Here is my stab at making a Caesar salad. Linda said it was tasty! White anchovies on top and shaved Parmesan.

Leftovers in a pan

Hey -- when you have a lot of leftover fries and some shredded pork, just put some onions and garlic and pan and fry it all up to make hash browns with meat. How about that idea?

These tasty cinnamon rolls are from our friends at Fixe Southern House.
We get them to go. So delicious.

We had a great to-go meal brought over the other night. Here you see Linda's chicken with fries.

One of my favorite dishes at Fixe. They are so good to keep on delivering during this period in our lives. Excellent food!

We had a good red curry and chicken dish the other night. Very tasty.
