22nd Century? In The Domain
Cosmic mushrooms? Not sure what these decorative elements are supposed to be, but they are striking, that's for sure. We went to the local high-end shopping center for a Sunday stroll the other day.

Fashion Night Out
Faithful readers have probably figured out that I'm not very 'fashion forward.' FFP does love shopping and picking clothes, however. And both of us love fashion shows. I can't really say why. Maybe it's the drama or wondering how they make such quick changes. Last night was Fashion's Night Out and The Society Diaries Magazine and Neiman Marcus had a reception and fashion show at the Neiman's at the Domain. FFP shot this as one of the official photographers took a picture of a model in front of one the paintings in the store. (This store is worth a visit if you like modern art. I think most of the paintings are from local artists, too.)

FFP Contributes Some Style
FFP is usually involved in more important things than blogging, but he did pose in front of this shop window at the Domain Thursday night to show us some style. I didn't notice until later that the sign said: "Petites Now Available." Which seems odd (1) in a shop showing men's shirts (aren't they?); and (2) in a shop at the domain where, I'd assume, all the clothes are skewed toward thin! He does look stylish, though. He's holding my takeout from Jasper's.

A Different Domain
We were at the upscale 'neighborhood' called The Domain on its shopping street last night. It is a quick drive (assuming light traffic on Mopac) from our house. It might as well be another planet, though. We don't go there too often. I think it may have been our third trip. Our first was for the grand opening of Neiman Marcus. The second for the grand opening of McCormick & Schmick's location there. Last night we went to a party at the Ralph Lauren store and we knew almost everyone there. And then went to a restaurant called North which was full of people and we didn't know any of them. And then we were walking around and met this gal who was a pharmacy company rep who had a couple of doctors in tow. She took us along to some other place where the bar was stacked with more strangers. It didn't seem like Austin. Because we usually know people and the places we go don't seem so full of hip, young people who look like they belong in New York or Dallas. I did know one of the doctors, though. I've taken my dad to him. They are calling this area a second downtown. It has that feel for sure.
