Cute bus

Someone spent some time painting this bus -- too bad they cannot use it right now, thanks to the virus shutting down our lives.

Pause the Politics

This bus appeared at Fan Fest during F1. I figure that they didn't have time to repaint it after the election.

Just Walk a Mile!

Austin City Limits Festival was last weekend in Zilker Park. This closed street and long line of constantly running belching buses? It was taking people who parked or otherwise arrived in our neighborhood a little over a mile away to Zilker Park. It should be an easy walk for anyone who can stand or sit outside all day listening to music. I will never understand running buses from here. I guess they figure they would never get people to stay out of the traffic jam on the other side of the river and park here.

Waiting

Someone waits in a modern bus shelter for a bus (or redemption?) in front of an old house on East Cesar Chavez.

Big Yellow Buses

I went out onto my balcony to get a breath of fresh air yesterday and saw this long line of buses at The Long Center for the Performing Arts across the lake. Obviously, some type of performance for school kids from around the area was happening.

Dethklok rocks, I guess

I had to be told about this band. Dethklok is a fictional death metal group featured in the Adult Swim animated program Metalocalypse. There is also a "virtual" band of real guys performing in places like the Austin Music Hall across the street from us. Here is the band's bus, which has a pretty amazing paint job. They had a concert Friday night--we enjoyed some good wine and food at Mulberry while the audience was streaming out of the hall. (Why is the "virtual" band the one with flesh and blood players? Reality and fiction seem to be confused here.)

Bikes?

Today bike riders invade Austin for something called a 'crit' on a short urban course. Yesterday this bus was at Mellow Johnny's (the bike shop across the street from the condo) so I assume it has something to do with bike racing. So I guess there will be two-wheelers of a different ilk in town this weekend. I am as uninformed about bicycles as about motorcycles, but I'll still be looking for pictures!
