Row, row, row those boats!

We were walking over the Barton Springs Road bridge recently and I snapped this photo of some boats being rowed towards the lake. Nice day for a boat ride.

Feeding time

We went for a walk around the lake today and strolled past the feeding site for so many ducks and swans.  They were definitely getting their fill.

This pleasant scene was shot from the bridge over Barton Springs as it spills toward Lady Bird Lake.

Brunch for Birds

When it's feeding time, all manner of birds show up.  I recently caught this scene on the hiking trail near Barton Creek.

Barton Creek

This is a long shot of the area where the last two photos were taken on Barton Creek. The bridge is a footbridge we usually take when we just navigate around the lake. It connects the Hike and Bike Trail without going to the street bridge over the creek.

Safe Canoe

Took this shot of a family in a canoe on Barton Creek where it enters Lady Bird Lake from the Barton Springs Road Bridge. Everyone has a life jacket as they navigate past the underwater weeds.

A Tree that Loves Water

Cypress trees love to grow where there is a constant source of water like this one growing near the Lou Neff Point where Barton Creek meets Lady Bird Lake. The 'knees' on the roots and the fine foliage identify this tree. I believe these trees are actually native to Central Texas creeks.
