We'll always call this building under construction "The Rent-All Building" because of the little business that was was there and got shoved aside for it.

A Bit of Shade

This skyline shot is from the new boardwalk. It's really changed in the last few years.

Perfect Spot for Spectators

Lots of people sailed right up to see the Blue Lapis Light performance. And, yes, the dancers arrived by boat to their positions as well.

Hanging on the Highway

This Blue Lapis Light Dancer performs on a column supporting IH35. This was part of the boardwalk grand opening celebration. You can see the Monarch, 360, AMLI on Second, the W and the Ashton in the background.

Yellow-Crowned Night Heron

Jackie shot this while we were on our boardwalk inauguration adventure a few weekends ago. I believe it to be a yellow-crowned night heron. Lovely to have all the flora and fauna we do around Lady Bird Lake.

Lady Bird Lake Has a New Boardwalk

My friend Jackie shot this one when we walked over to the east to the ribbon cutting on June 7th. Our home, the 360, is on the far right. As you can see this new path around the lake extends for a long distance over the water.

Another view of Austin's crane invasion. It's fun for us to watch the projects going up around our home. One of these cranes is for the new library's construction.

We are often confused about popular culture. The mural outside this business which seemed to offer sports clothes baffled us.

Emergence

A place on South First that used to be a tattoo parlor (I think) is being refitted. The side has a mural showing a butterfly emerging. Don't know what the new business will be.

Homeowners don't like dogs leaving their mark in the yard.

These chairs in the sun were ready recently for patrons at Shady Grove on Barton Springs Road.

The bark of this Texas Persimmon in Pease Park has a wonderful texture.

Mixed Messages

This graffiti on a construction wall at South First and Riverside seems to have had its message changed. I like the doctored version better but they might have added the number for a suicide hot line.

Those vapor shops are popping up everywhere. This one had a motorized mannequin waving a sign.

This poster is at one of our favorite eateries, Snack Bar on South Congress, combines the iconic 360 Pennybacker Bridge and a couple of iconic movie monsters.
