Here is a shot I took of Linda on the fancy boardwalk we now have along Lady Bird Lake. Love this new amenity for our walking pleasure.

Water feature to be burbling soon

On our walk over the Drake Bridge a few weeks ago, we saw this new water feature that will be operating when they finish all the construction on Auditorium Shores. I leaned over and took this shot.

Liz hits some sweet notes.

The Jazz Pharaohs have a great new trombone player. And our favorite singer Miss Liz Morphis is still belting out the great songs we love like "All of Me" and "Straighten Up and Fly Right."

Great lawn at dawn

I couldn't let the summer go by without posting another shot of our Great Lawn at Zilker Park. I love walking over there in the morning and taking some time to stare at our skyline framed by natural beauty.

Crane bends its neck

I love watching the construction projects around our home. This crane is articulating well at the Trammell Crow development.

Waves

These giant waves cascade toward the lagoon and lake at Laguna Gloria on Lake Austin. The sculpture is done of salvaged fishing rope from lobster men that is dyed and arranged. Interestingly we saw work by this sculptor at Madison Square Park in the last year or so.

Peaceful Downtown Scene

This bucolic scene at the mouth of a creek is brought to you by the new boardwalk because otherwise one couldn't get this view except by boat. (I think it may be Blum Creek, by the way.) But...is that a boulder IN the boat?

Keepin' It Something

It really seems to be a little self-conscious for a city to have a Keepin' It Weird Festival (and 5K, always a run involved!) but we do. These gents were passing by our building on their way to said event one day last month.

Veggies are at the top of her list!

Charles Long's Pet Sounds sculptures at Laguna Gloria make sounds when you touch them which you are encouraged to do.

Colors Above

This may look like an unusual carport but it's a sculpture on the grounds of Laguna Gloria. It is called "Raised Laguna Discussion Platform" and is the work of British sculptor Liam Gillick.

Where's the Key?

This sculpture by Jim Lambie on the grounds of Laguna Gloria (the west Austin outpost of the museum now known as The Contemporary) is called "Secret Affair (Gold)." There's a bit of irony here, I think.

Celebrating a summer movie

We were part of an opening crowd at the Zach Scott Theater last Sunday for the premiere of a movie called "Fug Sweater." It was also Maria McDonald's 50th birthday (she produced the movie) and actor Gary Busey's 70th birthday. Gary Busey is the blond-headed guy at the lower right. Lots of cheerful spirit when the lights went up after the movie!
