This annual fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas raises money for this non-profit that helps women -- at no charge -- with their journey through breast cancer treatment.

We were at the LBJ Library and Museum last month to see a special Viet Nam War exhibit. No pictures allowed in that, but the regular exhibits provide some opportunities.

Morning Glory

Spring brought lots of rain this year and everything bloomed long and hard including lots of Morning Glories.

Laugh and Learn the Rules

The trail foundation is putting up signs on the trails to keep us laughing but also apprised of the rules. This admonition to keep pets leashed shows a man with, yes, a goat.

Good Pop

Local frozen confection company Good Pop has a spot in front of Whole Foods where you can take a picture with a giant replica of their popular watermelon-flavored ice pop. This is the Whole Foods we walk to for shopping. So does Jackie who snapped this picture. As she says this is a sure sign of summer.

Lone Shoe

As I said to Jackie when she submitted this picture: "The abandoned shoe meme never gets old." She captured this one near the Lamar overpass. We never pose nor move the shoes without owners, letting them speak their volumes as intended.

Electric Drive

Austin has repurposed an old power plant (Seaholm) for restaurants and offices and built up the surrounding area with other businesses, condos, apartments, and stores. As part of this new district, they rechristened part of West Second as 'Electric Drive.' To emphasize this they added charging stations for electric cars. Jackie caught one being powered up.

I love this eight hydrant 1928-era water fountain on the Capitol grounds. 

New dish at Fixe

Coffee-infused BBQ sauce on a veal brisket cooked sous vide for over 40 hours. Now that's some serious meat! Fixe is a block from where we live. We eat there a lot.

This colossal tree is on our State Capitol grounds.

The Pharaohs all back together

The Jazz Pharaohs got back together for a performance on a recent Friday. Here you see our pal Liz doing the vocal honors. That's Freddie on trombone, back for a night. He lives in Indiana now.

Knights of the Vine Party

Our annual black tie assemblage for Knights of the Vine happened a week or two ago. Great wine and food at the Four Seasons and we caught up with some old friends.

Sunset Over Lady Bird Lake

We run a lot of sunsets and often from this vantage point provided by our friend Jackie (across Lady Bird Lake) but this one struck all of us as so much like a painting with the smear of the rain cloud obscuring the sun. We had lots of rain in May and early June. This was taken n June 4th.

When we got to the Four Seasons the other day for our anniversary weekend, we were greeted with this wonderful amenity, including two of our wedding photos on white chocolate.
