If It Stays There Long Enough
This abandoned bike in the West Campus area had lost its front wheel and had been painted purple, along with the attached bike rack.

Dining on Dover Sole
We love this Friday night special at Le Politique, the restaurant just around the corner from our home. Dover sole with lemon sauce and capers. Delicious!

Selfie in the lobby
OK, I couldn't resist putting another one of these up. I love to shoot photos of myself in the elevator lobby with the mirror to use.

Easy Access to the Trails
This is FFP walking toward the pedestrian underpass at Shoal Creek and Cesar Chavez. From our condo we can use this reopened piece of the Shoal Creek Trail to access the Butler Trail...and avoid crossing any streets.

Appropriate placement
Some bike rider decided that this admonishing sign would be a perfect place to abandon his trusty steed. I hope that this practice of just throwing your bike down anywhere will stop soon.

Home is where you make it
This guy (you see the bottoms of his shoes) just decided to lay down and take a nap on the grass one morning two weeks or so ago.

Looming skyline
I love seeing the skyline of our downtown from different perspectives. In this shot, I was by the Austin High baseball field looking east.

I cast a long shadow
Sometimes I see my shadow and want to record it for history. As old as I am, I like moments like this where I see my mortality.

Not likely
As of the end of July, here was the status on this restaurant. We don't think it will open in the spring of 2018.

A towering memorial

Pescado Veracruzano
This dish at Fonda San Miguel is one of my all-times favorites. It has the perfect combination of spice and texture. For my last meal? Maybe.

Our gal Liz is crooning again.
It's been a while since I ran a shot of Liz Morphis and the Violet Crown Revue. Here they are at The Elephant Room on a recent night. Love those tennies, Liz!

Featured cocktail on the menu!
That it us! From our party at the Paramount the other day. I guess I was the sour part of this recipe.

Hope springs eternal
Reverting to the Fourth of July, these people showed up on top of the parking garage across the street, hoping to get a glimpse of the fireworks on the lake. I don't think that they had much luck. Too many tall buildings have gone up in the last year.

Katy takes a selfie with us
Our server Katy, who has a world-class smile, took this photo of all of us the other day. We love living in the midst of so many good places to eat.

Madeleines -- my, my!
These lemon Madeleines at Le Politique the other night were scrumptious. The perfect ending to a meal. And this place is about one and a half blocks from our home, making it even better.

Just for the halibut
Here is a delicious halibut dish I enjoyed at Jeffrey's, one of Austin's finest restaurants, the other night. I loved every bite.

Showy shoes
Love these shoes our friend Graydon was wearing the other night at our party. They go well with this carpet, too.

That's us!
We love sponsoring a summer film every year for the Paramount. And hey, it doesn't hurt our feelings to have our name in lights!

Theme Day -- Music
The theme for today is "Music" and here we have a photo from our favorite jazz club, Parker. That is the owner's wife singing with the big band. Here is how other bloggers from around the work interpreted today's theme on City Daily Photo.
