This mural on the side of a building on West Fifth puzzles me a bit.

The Model of Nokonah Condos

When buildings are proposed, there are often elaborate models. I know there was one for our building in the sales office. (See here.) We try to visit the sales offices of all the buildings going up to see them. But the Nokonah kept theirs in the lobby.

Remnants

Jovita's Restaurant on South First was caught up in a drug raid and the property was under the control of the U.S. Marshall for a long time. On a recent walk we saw that the building was razed. This patch of tile remained.

Blossoms in the Wind

These blossoms were on Annie Street in South Austin on our recent walk. Spring has sprung.

On a walk down South Congress we saw these Poppies announcing Springtime.

Coffee Boost

That same doughnut trailer from yesterday offers CDB Coffee. I don't know about that. Caffeine is my drug.

Massive doughnut sculpture outside the Gourdough's Trailer on South First. I've never had one of their offerings. If I ever get "the diagnosis" I'm going to put it on my bucket list, though.

Look UP

I've been in our City Hall a bunch of times, but I'm not sure I ever noticed just how dramatic it was to look up while standing in the lobby.

This bar, called Dumont, is under the street level on West Fourth. We attended a party there a few days ago.

Dog sitter

Here you see Melissa. She makes a nice living by taking care of other folks' dogs. She was having a good time with them a few days ago.

Shellfish Galore in That Risotto

We dined at one of the local fine dining establishments several times in one week recently. I had this delightful shellfish risotto one night.

Red Buds an Early Sign of Spring

This red bud tree is showing its colors outside the Nakonah Condos. Its one of the early signs of Spring.

Austin and Texas Murals

When our dear friends from the Northwest were visiting we walked up Guadalupe ("The Drag") one day. The Artist's Market was devoid of booths this day and I shot a picture of FFP and our friend Tina surrounded by the murals.

Great film by a friend

We went to screening of a film called "We Go Higher" about children of some of the people killed on 9/11. Our friend Sara Hirsh Bordo is the producer.

Ronan Farrow, noted author, attended a party for Paramount donors the other night. He discussed various topics with many of the guests.

Our CIty Hall

It's theme day at City Daily Photo and the theme is "Municipal Building" so I shot a picture of Austin City Hall, near our condo building. The sculpture of a bird (largely from old tires?) might represent a grackle but none of those pests have a colorful head! The plaque did not reveal any details.
