 On St. Patrick's Day, we went out for lunch and then to an event

celebrating one of Old Austin's favorite entertainment venues. I got suited up for the occasion. 

The Dog Named Chicken

a wine and book store in Lockhart, just south of Austin. 

The Tale Of Two Tacos

 We ate Sunday lunch at Salsa Limon the other day. First time that we have tried the place.
My chicken taco on the right was great. The mushroom version was OK, not as good as the other one.

 Saw this cute little doll on a trash pile the other day while walking. 

I'll bet it was some child's favorite years ago. Kids move on to other toys. Kind of sad.

The owners have a good sense of humor and they sell a lot of ice cream.

 We saw some fine examples of our state flower on a walk the other day.

Always makes me glad to see spring blooms. 

Little Free Library

I love looking at Little Free Libraries. This one needed some extra insulation from the recent rain.
We have so many unread books around the condo that I rarely take anything from one of these. 

Head On Over!

 These signs on a telephone pole here in town give you milage
to lots of points around the state -- and the country. 

The Old Extended Stay

 This sixty-plus story building is on the site where the Extended Stay Hotel used to be. It looms large from a lot of angles. I shot this photo when we were walking south on Guadalupe the other day.
We call it "The Extended Stay" just to be able to ID it. 

Armadillo says hi

 We went to a benefit for a local musician last weekend and saw some great performers.

Here is our fancy new pedestrian mall that extends from the state capitol to the museum district.
We enjoyed using our feet to go see a show the other day.
(This has been under construction for quite a while.)

Theme Day: Comfort Food

 Frieda's Enchiladas with Venison Chili, served at Texas Chili Parlor. These always bring us comfort.
