The church of my childhood.

This building is where Hyde Park Christian Church used to reside. It moved away from here to a much bigger building when I was in high school. We walked by the other day and found that "Almond Tree" Church is now in this spot. This building brings back many a memory from my younger days.

Fading squares of memories

This rapidly-deteriorating logo in the sidewalk is all that remains of Renfro's Rexall Drug Store on "The Drag" across from the University of Texas campus. That store is where I holed up during the Tower Sniper rampage on August 1, 1966 in which 17 people were killed and over thirty were injured.
