Picture of the Year

This is the day when City Daily Photo celebrates the theme 'picture of the year.' We chose this one from our blog, shot by FFP edited by me. We didn't pose these shoes in the leaves on South Congress, we swear. It seemed to stand in well for our year. It was hard to choose a picture, though, and we had lots of possibilities offered by four contributors.
Lots of City Daily Photo blogs will give you a shot for 'picture of the year' from their own blog or elsewhere. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

  2. For what it's worth, this photo that presented itself while Linda and I were on one of our morning walks is symbolic of leaving behind an old year. Two perfectly good shoes sitting there as if someone said, "To heck with it -- we'll leave these here and let's try something else."

For me, this was five weeks after my cancer surgery on my eyelid and neck. And believe me, Linda and I were ready to move on at that point.

Thank goodness for iPhones so we can get shots like this when we don't have a better camera handy!

Happy New Year to all our fellow posters worldwide!
