Roots on top

We took a walk through the Great Lawn of Zilker Park and came upon the remains of one of the fine old trees at "Rock Island." We were out of town when the storm hit that toppled this tree. Since the sawed-off part of the stump was on the bottom and the roots were on top, we thought that this shot would be worthy of "Upside Down" -- the theme for today. 1. It's sad to see an old tree like that gone! Works well for the theme though. ;-)

  2. I agree with RedPat, it's sad to see an old tree go like this, but you made the right decision to photograph it because it made a great Theme Day post. I'm glad you picked this to share with us.

  3. Yes, it definitely is an example of upside-down. All life comes to an end at some time, be it a tree, or a person.
