I have chosen to celebrate the freedom women have here in the U.S. by showing Masumi Jones on drums, being all she can be as a person, a jazz drummer and a woman. I applaud this young woman following the beat of a different drum. I applaud the people of Iran rising up in support of their own self-determination rather than having their direction imposed from above or from outside.
