View Encroachment
One of the the iconic buildings we can see from our balcony is the Frost Bank Tower. But this new building on Fourth Street promises to usurp our view of it.

Day 41-Clouds Have It
This is how the Frost Bank and clouds looked at the end of our daily 'sit outside and observe' moments.

Day 39-Sunset Reflected
The sunset reflected on the Frost Bank Tower. I was going to show those three white immovable cars on the parking garage, but then this caught me eye.

Changing View
From our balcony you see a crane between us and the iconic Frost Bank Tower. There is also one on the right side of the picture between the state office building and the building at Third and Colorado. These will alter our view once. again

The View from Here
It's the first of the month so it's Theme Day for City Daily Photo. People around the world who participate in the portal with us will be expressing the theme of 'heimat.' It's German for a feeling of home or belonging apparently. For over seven years we have felt at home when we looked off our balcony here on the tenth floor and saw the skyline. Admittedly, the horizon is shrinking in this view with the building on the far left just being finished and the Westin hotel a recent addition. Still there is a bit of pink sky to tell us that it's another morning in Austin Texas. And we are at home. Click here to see how others interpret the theme.

There's A New View
When you live in a dense urban area, your view can change. This sunset reflection now includes the topped and almost completed Colorado Tower. Before it went up you could see the top of another building on Congress. (See here about a year and a half ago.)

Guest at Dinner
We were at the Headliners Club one night in May and while it was still light outside I shot this picture of the Frost bank looming outside the window.

Good Morning
We stumbled up early enough to enjoy and take a picture of the sunrise. Worth getting out of bed. Like every moment in life, these moments of morning colors are fleeting.

Reflecting the Same Sunset
The sunset on June 30 (same as yesterday) only reflected in the Frost Bank Tower. It's amazing how many looks the sunset can give this tower on different days or just different times in the setting. For example: full orange and shades of pink.

Sunset Light
We were walking across the pedestrian bridge at Mopac the other day as the sun sank low. It made a particularly interesting reflection on, from left to right, Frost Bank, Spring, the 360, the W and the Austonian. No enhancements, just a cropped point and shoot photo.

Light Show
FFP woke up early Sunday morning and amid the rain noticed a fantastic light show being reflected on the Frost Bank Tower. I popped a camera on the tripod and opened the door and shot some pictures. Posted a couple on facebook, too. We are pretty sure they were practicing for a SXSW closing night when they thought no one would be looking. We will see.

Night in the City
Not a great picture, but I shot it with a Nikon S630 Point and Shoot from a moving boat so...all things considered...I like it.

Good Morning, Frost Bank
We never get tired of looking out the window and seeing a sunrise behind the Frost Bank Tower. This morning's caught FFP's eye and we shot several pictures with several cameras. Since the tower is also a great mirror for clouds and sunsets, etc. it has appeared here often.
