Book talk

Our friend Stephen Harrigan has written what may be the best ever history of our state. On a recent night, we went to the Central Library to hear him discuss his work. He is on the left.

Serious Discussion

We attended a book reading and discussion at the new Central Library, which is about a four block walk from our place, the other night. Nationally known columnist and pundit Matthew Dowd, left, interviewed Ben Fountain, the author of "Beautiful Country, Burn Again."

"The Nix" Book-signing.

Nathan Hill, shown here, is the author of "The Nix," a terrific book about identity in the digital age. I loved it when I read it and I heard some of his talk at BookPeople, around the corner on a recent night.
