This delectable dish was served to Linda at Cipollina on a recent Saturday, complete with its own iron skillet.

Neglected

This is a detail of a large, neglected house on West Lynn. This month's theme has me looking for abandoned structures and things.

Mystery Mural

There was a bike shop on West Lynn which is now closed. On the side of the building is this mural. I understand the 'ride' and the bikes and maybe even the racing flags. Less sure about foxes and Mexican symbols and fire.

Serve em up!

A local soda fountain needed temp help in a recent crunch time so a lot of friends of ours pitched in to take orders and bus tables. Here is our pal Spring with Linda's taco.

Drenched to the Bone

We could use some rain. But this graffiti makes one wonder about the saying "drenched to the bone." Captured on West Lynn.

An Inviting Scene

Josephine House is a delightful addition to West Austin-- it offers a cool place to relax, have a glass of wine and some tasty snacks. It is already getting a lot of business.

Pack o' Pups

This lady says that the old guy in the carriage can't walk very far any longer, but now that he has two siblings, he likes to get out for a bit.  We met her and her dogs near West Lynn recently.

Tile Art

We were on West Lynn the other day and I took a closer look at some of the tile work on some condos that have been there a long time. I told FFP this looked like the same work as some tile murals that used to grace Jeffrey's bar but had been removed in a remodeling. A little research on the Internet after finding a signature in this picture identified the artist as Malou Flato and the work shown on her WEB page further convinced me about those works that once appeared in the nearby Jeffrey's.

More Plastic Fauna

Man's Best Friend and that other furry pet thing are represented at this West Lynn vet's office by giant plastic images in hues perhaps not really found in nature. FFP is there for scale.

These headlines keep me in stitches

This vet clinic has had clever advertising for many years. Here's their latest sign. I shot this one on a recent walk we took around West Austin. Actually, this place is just south of an apartment house I lived in almost forty years ago.

Soda Fountain

Sunday we snapped a picture of the new window sign painting at Nau's Enfield Drug store. Nau's is a venerable store at the edge between Old West Austin and Clarksville. We'd featured their worn sign here but they decided to dress up the windows with fresh advertising of the lunch counter.
