Here's a shot of the Ave B Grocery, which has been in business since 1906, so I understand. We haven't been by there lately, since it's in Hyde Park, close to our old neighborhood. I assume it's still operating. Anyway, if it is, they have great sandwiches and lots of varieties of root beer.

Buying local

Reminds me of a small grocery store on the east side, a few blocks from interstate. Guy behind counter was selling individual cigs. You don't see that everyday! : )
ReplyDeleteI've been here before. A friend of mine lives in Hyde Park and took me here. It's a little grocery with an old man making sandwiches in the back. Really awesome place to support.
