Deer Dining in the Back Yard

We had a Fourth of July dinner with friends at their Northwest Hills home last night and we were treated to the sight of these "pets" of theirs. The deer population along the greenbelt behind their home is pretty ample, as you can see. There were at least three generations lining up for carrots. Here you see grandma checking the freshness of the comestibles.

  1. Oh I wish. I wish my place was out in the sticks a little farther and my lot bigger so I could get deer here. The sad part is they hunt deer and many wounded show up at feeders and the people are not able to help them. Friends of mine in Canada went through that each year. She said it was heartbreaking to see wounded deer in misery.

I like your photograph and I like the story with it.
