Hot as....

Austin weather has been hot. July was the hottest since 1860. August soldiers on with over 100 degrees day after day. Into the fray comes Hatch chile season. This is the display at Whole Foods. Some restaurants (like Chuy's) feature special Hatch recipes.

  1. July here in Ohio where I live was the coldest ever recorded. August is starting out the same way. Maybe, and I have heard it happened before, the poles are getting ready to flip. In which case we will end up south of the equator.

My mother could never eat things like this. Too hot. Then she moved to Texas and we went to visit her several times and she ate them like kids eat a snack.

  4. Yes, the humidity is a bear. You sweat to cool off, but with no wind and high humidity you don't. Then...you sweat some more and soon all is sweat. That's me anyway.
