This picture shows the 'ring' of the new Long Center for the Performing Arts with the 360 Condos looming up into a threatening sky. It was taken a week ago when we 'visited our opera seats.' The Center had a bunch of events over the weekend, but we didn't make any of them. The sky is threatening (and it's actually raining) today so I thought this fit the mood.

Looming
This picture shows the 'ring' of the new Long Center for the Performing Arts with the 360 Condos looming up into a threatening sky. It was taken a week ago when we 'visited our opera seats.' The Center had a bunch of events over the weekend, but we didn't make any of them. The sky is threatening (and it's actually raining) today so I thought this fit the mood.

Wheb was this completed? I lived in Austin for just over 4 years but sadly had to move away in late 2006.
ReplyDeleteThe 360 Condos were 'topped' recently and will be complete later in the year. People will start moving in early in the summer. The Long Center (the ring) is where Palmer Auditorium used to be and is having a series of grand opening celebrations. When you come back to Austin, it will have changed. A residential tower on Congress, the Austonian, is starting to rise and will be 50+ stories, I believe.
