This is an
AustinCarShare.Org car that has a parking place on Second Street. You sign up and then you can use it when you need it and pay by hours and miles. Yesterday we didn't drive our cars. I know FFP will get out today, but I may not unless it stops raining. (I was supposed to drive to tennis.)
My sense is that Austin is a progressive city. Car sharing may be a good fit.
ReplyDeleteThe Co-operative Auto Network (sorry, I don't know how to do a link here) was established in Vancouver in 1997 with one or two cars (I forget). Today there are at least 225 cars and about 4,000 members. It's difficult for me to stay on top of the numbers as growth is quite rapid.
